A fine reissue of a 1993 techno classic - VIL is back with another superb EP. Pop Panic's People on Earth is an experimental and leftfield take on techno with freewheeling rhythms built from strange sound sources. The Sound Down version of the title track is all silvery synths and loopy tech drums with twanging metal lines and snaking dub bass. 'Pop Panic (Secrets Inside)' then picks up the pace with a heavily layered and tightly interwoven mix of drums, hits and synths that work your bones loose and 'Pop Panic (Suite 999)' goes deeper, darker and more spare.
The 11th release on Curtis Electronix comes from one of the most influential figures in the history of electro. Infinite Tetraspace EP is a mind-altering combination of ambient beauties, ice cold machine-funk and spaced out 4/4 kickers that play with the concept of space and time, as expressed almost clearly in the title. Four next level cuts that push their electro even more into the future. We are very much glad they are back.
Michka, has been immersed in technology since age 10. His musical journey began at 17, spanning classical, jazz, and rock. In 1992, he debuted with a keyboard and synthesizer-led rock record. Transitioning to Techno with his first production under KHARMA alias.Notably, he's set to release his latest work on Fluyo Records' third installment curated by Jorge Escribano.
The music coming from Vrsion & Nikol’s collaboration captured our attention from the very first listen. With this tenth O.C.D release, we strive to showcase timeless music that we feel will be appreciated as much now as well into the future. Together they are ‘Body Copy’, a collaborative project between two artists which blossomed in Leeds. Gavin Herlihy (Vrsion), a name that won’t be new to those who were around the early 2000s when he was releasing his music with the most interesting labels of the time and lately on Craig Richard’s The Nothing Special label. Chris Nicholls (Nikol), resident of the Leeds-Barcelona project MASS has taken steps into his production career with promising results on their first record. For us, this EP has a very special flavour, expressing darker tones compared to the latest EPs on the label.
This release is a tribute to the friendships I have built over the years within the electronic music scene. Once again, the occupying squad went heavy on the record… 4 Club Tracks in-between nods to the rave culture, old-school electro flavour with a neat modern twist, the usual breakbeats bonanza and a very naughty trance remix on top !Featuring : S.A.M., Nathan Melja, Kasper Marott & Fareed. All tracks produced in Paris, Berlin & Copenhague.
Vernacular Records is proud to announce the release of its 3rd record, Canyon 211 EP by Vernacular Orchestra. Just like the first release of this series, we invited an artist we love & respect for his work on the remix duty. On this one, we choose Casa Voyager boss, Driss Bennis aka OCB.
