Ilija Rudman, Maze, MAZE01, Retrospective EP, kma60

In the first half of 2024, the first album on our new label will be released, serving as both the starting point and culmination of the Maze project. Maze initially began as a party and later evolved into a record label, once the musical style became more precisely defined.

The EP will be by the artist Ilija Rudman. In 2022, Jacopo Latini shared one of his tracks with us, and we instantly fell in love with it. As we delved into the artist's discography, we realized that many of Ilija's older productions had become hard to find or extremely expensive.

We spoke with the Croatian artist several times over the phone, asking him to send us some music and discussing the ideal structure for the EP. We decided to shed new light on some of his old productions, combining them with unreleased tracks produced between 2005 and 2007, arguably the most prosperous period for electro house. What's intriguing about these productions is that they are elegantly blended with elements inspired by 80s sounds, creating a distinctive style.

The result is the Retrospective EP, a four-track album produced by Ilija, with one track edited by Grem

Joel Brittain's music is defined more by what it isn't than by what it is. This is breakbeat... but not, house... but not, electro... but not. Hell, there's even a hint of prog in these expansive, indefinable tracks that switch-up in oh-so-unexpected ways.Perhaps it's because this US-born, UK-based producer has been bubbling in various scenes for so long. Brittain had a string of releases in the 2000s on labels like Wrong, Reverberations, and Tango, plus ran his own label Nonsuch Recordings. But all the while he was busy making music, refining a vast cache of unreleased tracks. It’s from this treasure trove that States of Mind draws, but it still sounds like it could have been made this year.So yes it's breakbeat, yes it's house, and yes it's electro... and it's all the better for it.
Landing this summer is a fantastic body of work from talented Irishman, Tr One, and quite notably the inaugural release on his own “Intrinsic Rhythm” label. His debut album “From The Studio Of” is a masterpiece that maneuvers between innovative strains of deep house, spaced out electro, and discerning mellow techno; the studio album spans across fourteen tracks including an acid tinged remix from, Cignol, and some stellar input from, Mihail P. Continuously inspired by the greats, and drawing influence from an array of sounds of the past whether that be, Chicago, Detroit and beyond, Tr One has now found himself with a cohesive series of tracks that speaks with power and creativity, and will see the light of day on both 2 x seperate 12” EP's and digital. The first EP cruises into “Pitchshift” a deep, and melodic Detroit beatdown influenced trip featuring the vocals of Elaine Dowling. “Turning Point” drifts you up a notch, emotional synths breathe life into the crisp drum arrangements, but never getting carried away. The intelligently constructed “I’m Dreaming Again” sways gently in the realms of the after hours, hypnotic and captivating sounds from the Carlow based producer. Maintaining the enigmatic mood is “Stay Offline” a distinctive bassline drives the track allowing the other elements to converse peacefully. Cignol’s remix of “Turning Point” brings a new acid dynamic to the album, squelchy lines bounce around tidy drum work.
Part 3 of Cignol's Lost Cignal series! 4 tracks that carries all the fine Furthur Electronix trademark sounds of IDM/Breakbeat/Downtempo. Limited hand stamped copies..
